1. Renaming – What’s in a name? A lot, and double the amount if you’re an organization that builds bridges across cultures while catering to a constituent base that speaks two distinct languages. The “Alliance for Collaboration With the Hispanic Community” (ACCH – yes, the acronym is in Spanish) originally came to bitTyrant to seek help determining a new name for their organization.
2) New Bilingual Website – Need a new website in a month or less? Piece ‘o cake. Need each piece of content on that website (pages, blog posts, calendar events, resource directory, features, etc) to be in Spanish and English and constructed so that the user can easily switch back and forth between the two languages? ¡Ay dios mio!
1) Renaming – bitTyrant worked with Hispanic Alliance/Alianza Hispana to carefully orchestrate constituent outreach and input, culminating in a nighttime “brainsteering” session with a roomful of folks from all walks of life who wanted to make sure that a new name was selected that would be worthy of the organization behind it. bitTyrant utilized its super-secret “Name Game” to get the creative juices flowing while determining a set of commonly agreed upon metrics through which to numerically quantify otherwise subjective phraseology- that’s a professorial way of saying “the name with the highest score wins.” At the end of the night, everyone agreed that “Hispanic Alliance” (or Alianza Hispana in Spanish) would be the new name for this amazing organization that is helping generations of people from North, Central, and South America to realize the American Dream in los Estados Unidos.
2.) New Website – bitTyrant was able to work with the Hispanic Alliance to completely redesign their website, despite a seemingly impossible time deadline and a limited budget. Yes, it’s bilingual too. Yes, ay dios mio! We love seeing all the great things this organization is doing for the Upstate, and supporting them as they accomplish their important work.
